A false ceiling lowers the room. Check the finished height before choosing a layered design, so the room does not feel low.
Position of AC units, pipes and return paths affects the ceiling layout. Plan these first so the design works with them.
Combine ambient light (cove or panels), task light (spots over work areas) and accent light (feature walls). Choose warm or neutral colour temperature room by room.
Visible cracks usually come from poor joint treatment. Ask how joints are taped and finished, and how expansion is handled on large spans.
